Service
details:

A comprehensive assessment is completed for each client to ensure the service plan (ISP) addresses each clients individual and family needs. ACS provides close collaboration with your school system, municipal and private agencies, and other involved service providers to establish a more conducive connection between home and school.

Who qualifies for the IIH program?
IIH targets children and adolescents who meet the criteria below and are at-risk for out of home placement due to behavioral, mental health, or substance abuse problems. Additionally, children and adolescents who are transitioning home from an out-of-home placement such as foster care, detention, or residential programs may also be eligible for services. Other qualifications include:

I. Children who have Medicaid insurance.

II. Ages 4 to 18.

III. Children and adolescents demonstrating a clinical necessity arising from a condition due to mental, substance abuse, behavioral, or emotional illness that results in significant functional impairments in major life activities and placing them at risk for removal from their home.

IV. Children involved with the Dept. of Juvenile Justice (on court ordered probation, has served time in a group home, foster care facility, or detention center by court order)

How long do services last?
Each client receiving IIH services is eligible for up to 26 weeks of services per year. Medicaid requires a minimum of 5 hours a week and ACS averages 7 to 9 hours per week depending on the unique needs of the client and their family.

I have a referral, how do I get started?
Complete and submit the referral form here. You can call us at our main office to screen or inquire about the specific criteria. After a short screening you will be contacted immediately to schedule a comprehensive assessment evaluation. If the child is found eligible for IIH, then services begin immediately. In cases where the child does not fit the criteria, appropriate referrals are made. The time period from a referral being made and services beginning is typically between 7 to 9 business days after approval from the Department of Medical Assistance Services and Magellan of Virginia.
